Burger paper or burger bag: which do you choose?

Wrapping or serving in a bag — it may seem like a small detail, but it determines how your burger reaches the table and how long your logo stays visible. A practical comparison.

Two ways to present the same burger

When paper is the better choice

When a bag wins

A bag is quicker. Pop the burger in, done — no folding technique that varies from one staff member to another on a busy evening. For takeaway and delivery, that's the deciding factor: the bag holds the burger together, catches the grease and goes straight into the bag without any fuss. And because the bag travels outside with the customer, your logo travels with it to places you're not present. For a food truck or a business with a lot of takeaway, that's often worth more than the open presentation of a sheet.

Grease-proof isn't a luxury, it's a requirement

Whatever you choose, the paper needs to be grease-resistant and food-safe. Ordinary paper soaks through within a minute, goes limp and lets stains show through — with your logo fading right along with it. Grease-proof paper keeps the grease at bay, stays firm and keeps the print legible until the last bite. That goes for both sheets and bags; our bags for burgers, toasties, stroopwafels and doughnuts are all made from grease-proof material.

What good print does

Keep the design simple. Packaging gets handled, folded and sometimes greasy — fine lines and small text won't survive that. A logo with plenty of white space around it, optionally your website or social handle, and nothing else. Also think about what stays visible after folding: with a wrapped burger, the middle of the sheet disappears. A pattern or a repeated logo works better than a single image placed right in the centre.

Starting small is fine

You don't need to order a full pallet straight away to see if it works. Grease-proof paper is available as a trial pack from 25 sheets, and you can order the bags in small quantities too. If you like it, simply sign in to your account and reorder your previous order with one click — same file, same size, no new design process.

Ordering: what you need

Ideally, supply your logo as a vector file (PDF, AI or EPS); that way it stays sharp at any size. After placing your order, you upload the file to your account and we create a digital proof. You approve this online, and only then does production start — so you know exactly what you're getting. Once the proof is approved, we typically start printing within three production days; delivery time comes on top of that. The exact lead time is listed with each product.
